While I was away!
Some of you will probably know I have been away in the UK since March saying my last farewell to my lovely Mum Marjorie. I am having a bit of trouble adjusting both to the loss and going from winter to spring and back to winter again!
But…. The Nursery continued in my absence thanks to our fantastic group of supporters and friends. While I was away the following events were held:
- School Teachers workshop with Pat Hoffman and Mark Oster (6 April 2018)
- Kiwi Conservation Club activities with Bronwyn (March-May 2018)
- School groups with Bronwyn (March-May 2018)
- Weaving Workshops with Kelly (14 and 21 April 2018)
- Native Plant ID workshops with Jesse (23 and 27 April 2018)
- Print Making Workshop with Jo Ogier (5 May 2018)
- Apple Pressing with Malcolm, Brian, Ray and Linda (11 May 2018)
- Body products from Natural Materials Workshop with Honorlea (12 May 2018)
- Seed cleaning and nursery activities with Linda and Ray (March-May 2018)
Thanks to all those good people and to others who have helped keep the thing afloat while I was absent! It proves that the “Community” part of the Community Nursery is alive and well.
We also said goodbye to Antonio and Darla who had been staying with us, as they headed to Wellington in search of work and further opportunities. We wish them well for the future. We look forward to using the “Brazilian drums” we have had made by Darren Scott, to Darla’s fathers designs! Chris
