Seeds and Cuttings and Matariki
The Nursery is open again on Fridays until 13 July 2018 when we will close again until 7 September 2018. At the moment we will be sowing seeds (that Linda has worked on cleaning and preparing) and then we will progress to cuttings. Winter is a great time to plan your project and prepare your planting site for action in spring. Having a spell in winter is also good for you – to recharge the batteries as nature is doing before its all on again in spring! To celebrate the ending of one year and looking forward to the new season we are having a Matariki Night on Saturday – details below.
Saturday 23 June 2018 - Matariki Night Celebration. BYO food and drinks to share at Community Nursery Education Centre 5.30pm-7.30pm. Park at 183 Grant Road carpark and follow the trail to the Education Centre. KCC Children’s activities from 5.30pm (but adults feel free to join in!). Bring along a lantern or a glass jar to make a lantern and torches and dress warmly for some star gazing! Contacts Chris 2131161 or Bronwyn 2130017.
